about

An instrumental xenharmonic prog-metal odyssey using refretted guitars in four different equal divisions of the octave: 14edo, 15edo, 17edo, and 23edo (see track notes to see which tuning the track is in). Stylistically, this album draws influences from a broad spectrum of metal subgenres; djent, prog-metal, post-metal, and stoner metal all find representation within these tracks. This album is the follow-up to 2014's ear-bending "Chains of Smoke", and expands on that album's sound by adding synthesized elements, faster tempos, lower open-string tunings, crazier time changes, and more expansive song structures.

For fans of: the Fucking Champs, Meshuggah, Dysrhythmia, and Pelican.

All proceeds from sales of this album will go to the purchase of more microtonal guitars and the production of more crazy-ass music!

This version is fully re-mixed and re-mastered, and anyone who purchased the previous version for $10 or more gets this version for free! If you purchased the previous version and have not received a download code, please contact me and I will hook you up.
